Only 10 participants will be admitted per session on a first-come-first-served basis so sign up soon!

This year we have organized a new initiative of „PhD students and Research Postdocs meet experts“ sessions during which PhD students and Research Postdocs can meet with a Plenary Speaker to ask questions and discuss science.

Interested participants who can prove their status of Student or Research Postdoc by an informal letter from their laboratory head, can sign up for one or both sessions via a special link available below.

Available sessions are:

Thursday May 9, 2019 from 12:25 to 13:00

Lasts seats available!!

Marcel van den Brink (New York, USA)
Professor van den Brink is head of the Division of Hematologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he specializes in hematopoietic stem cell transplants to treat blood cancers such as leukemia. He is renowned for developing strategies to help restore patients’ immune systems after transplantation and revealing new insights on the mechanisms of graft-versus-host disease, with particular focus on the gut microbiota.

Friday May 10, 2019 from 12:25 to 13:00

Fully booked. Waiting list available.

Soldano Ferrone (Boston, USA)
Professor Ferrone has pioneered the characterization of escape mechanisms deployed by tumor cells to avoid immune-mediated recognition and destruction, with particular regards to HLA loss in melanoma. He has also studied how combined immunotherapeutic strategies can counteract these tumor escape mechanisms. These studies are greatly facilitated by the large panel of HLA antigen-and human tumor antigen-specific monoclonal antibodies he has developed and shared with the scientific community over the years.
